Mark Davyd

Founder & CEO,
Music Venue Trust
London, UK
Mark Davyd is the CEO of the Music Venue Trust, the registered charity that campaigns to protect, secure and improve grassroots music venues in the UK. In the last twelve months the Trust has created a new national event (Venues Day) specifically for the sector, delivered a report to UK Parliament, and chaired the Mayor of London's Music Venues Tasforce which delivered a landmark report in October which will see London elect a Night Mayor and adopt the Agent of Change principle in planning. Mark is the co-owner of Tunbridge Wells Forum, a venue he founded in a toilet over 20 years ago. Since then, Mark has split his time between various music activities; he is also the CEO of Rhythmix, the music charity that works with young people in challenging circumstances; the owner of Outstanding Music, a 360 degree music company with a specialism in alternative latin music and a portfolio of clients that includes Disney, Warner Brothers, CBS, ABC and leading US brands; and loudmouth band manager to a stable of Spanish acts. Mark is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a regular speaker at international conferences (ILMC, SXSW, LAMC, Eurosonic). In his spare time he likes to sit in a corner and mutter the phrase "what spare time?" over and over again.
